Paddy started playing taiko in 2009, when his wife Lisa (also a member), booked him onto a taster session. This came about after her enduring years of his tapping rhythms and imaginary solos on table tops, tin cans, car parts and body parts; as a form of therapy, it didn't work, but it set him off on his taiko journey. In his day job, Paddy is a doctor, specialising in the management of people with kidney diseases. In between sessions with the NHS and Tsuchigumo, Paddy tries to keep a smallholding in East Lothian running and escapes to the hills when he can.
