Experience this electrifying fusion of rhythm and artistry as Los Angeles-based UnitOne and Glasgow's Tsuchigumo Daiko join forces for a unique celebration of the creativity, energy, and raw power of Taiko drumming.
Hailing from Los Angeles, UnitOne bring their signature blend of energy, precision, and world-class artistry. Known for the exhilarating full-length concert production SHIKI, and notable performances at the North American Taiko Conference and EXTASIA Taiko Festival in Japan, UnitOne creates dynamic and captivating works that thrill audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
Joining them is Scotland’s own Tsuchigumo Daiko, a professional Taiko ensemble based in Glasgow. Founded in 2016, Tsuchigumo Daiko has earned acclaim for their powerful sound, innovative compositions, and high-energy performances. The group continually pushes the boundaries of the art form, fusing diverse musical and artistic influences with traditional and contemporary forms of Taiko drumming.
UNIT ONE
Asano Taiko U.S. is home to the professional performing ensemble, UnitOne. UnitOne was formed in 2014, and features some of North America's most exciting performers and world-class taiko repertoire. The group currently consists of 11 members, each of whom has a unique background in music, dance, or other performing arts. Together, they use the powerful beats and rhythms of taiko to create dynamic and captivating performances.
UnitOne's stage shows are known for their energy, precision, and creativity, and are enjoyed by audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
TSUCHIGUMO DAIKO
Tsuchigumo Daiko is an arts organisation based in central Scotland committed to the study and promotion of Wadaiko across the country and beyond. Founded in February 2016 by Martin Doyle and Shonagh Walker, Tsuchigumo’s group ethos is based on fostering community, promoting inclusivity, empowering personal growth, and sharing the myriad benefits of Taiko drumming.
Tsuchigumo continually seeks to push the boundaries of the art form, blending diverse musical and artistic influences with traditional and contemporary forms of Taiko drumming. The group has become known for its powerful, progressive sound; unique compositions; and electrifying performance style.
