Kate is a high school Music teacher and was awarded her degree by the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Glasgow University in 2010. She studied at RCS as a first study piano player and second study singer. She is about to begin a postgraduate diploma in Promoting Equity with Stirling University and looks forward to implementing this in her daily practise. Kate was first introduced to Taiko in 2012, and it didn’t take her long to become irrevocably hooked. Having grown up as a musician and dancer, she was immediately interested by Taiko’s intricate rhythms and theatrical movement. In 2013 she went to Japan for the first time and her passion and appreciation for Japanese culture and Taiko intensified, and she has since visited the country a further four times for Taiko training and as a tourist. In her free time, Kate is also an avid gamer and enjoys everything from Laserquest and video games to board and card games. Her current favourite is the Dark Souls franchise, despite its punishing difficulty! Kate Manzor
